Plagiarism Policy

JLAIS has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism in any form. All submissions are screened for originality before and during peer review.

Screening

• Manuscripts are checked with similarity-detection software and by editorial assessment.
• Submissions showing unattributed copying, substantial unacknowledged overlap, or manipulated citations are returned or rejected.

Forms of plagiarism we act on

• Direct plagiarism — copying text or ideas without attribution.
• Self-plagiarism / redundant publication — reusing one's own previously published work without disclosure.
• Mosaic / paraphrasing plagiarism — rephrasing others' work without credit.
• Citation manipulation — adding citations that do not support the text.

If plagiarism is detected after publication

Confirmed cases are handled per COPE guidance and our Publication Ethics policy, and may result in a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, with notification to the authors' institutions where appropriate. Concerns may be reported to jlais@aiagepress.com.
