Special Issues & Guest-Edited Collections

JLAIS publishes special issues — focused collections that bring together leading work on a timely theme within the intersection of artificial intelligence with law, governance and society. Special issues are an excellent way for scholars to shape a conversation in their field.

Proposing a special issue

  • Guest editor(s): name, affiliation and a short statement of expertise.
  • Theme & rationale: the scope of the issue and why it matters now.
  • Plan: anticipated number of articles, a provisional timeline, and any planned call for papers.

How special issues are run

Every article in a special issue undergoes the same double-anonymous peer review and meets the same standards as a regular submission. Guest editors manage solicitation and initial handling in coordination with the Editor-in-Chief.

Pitch a special issue — include your theme and a provisional editor line-up.
